Overcome Fear. Inspire Hope. Empower Potential.

Only God knew what would come from a simple trip to the convenience store.

As I looked for the tea and honey, I overheard the conversation between the two clerks regarding Wikipedia. They were discussing how people criticize the content for being unreliable because it is created by humans.

One clerk said to other, “If a 5th grader posts that King Henry VIII is a smelly butthole, that’s his opinion. You have to think about the relevance of what you’re actually reading.” She has a very valid point; people should THINK about what they’re allowing to occupy their minds.

I engaged with them in their conversation, sharing my American perspective, paid for my items, and turned to leave.

Realizing I forgot a receipt, I turned to ask for a copy. As the transaction was long passed, the clerk could only tell me the amount, $6.68. I went to note it in my phone but had left it charging at home. The clerk offered to write the total down for me, but I said as I walked out, “No, it’s ok, it’s twice the number of man and the number of new beginnings.”

Little did I know, 48 hours later, I would walk into that same convenience store and see the same clerk who would shriek, “You were in here the other day! What did you say the other number was?!?! You said twice the number of man and what?”

“The number of new beginnings.”

“Thank you! We’ve been racking our brains trying to remember!”

As I reflected on the interaction this morning in relation to my recent prayer, I felt hope for Manchester. Even though this city is filled with wickedness of man, God has not forgotten them, and He is doing a new thing.

2 Corinthians 10:4–5 (ESV)
For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds. 5 We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ,

Isaiah 43:19 (ESV)
Behold, I am doing a new thing;
now it springs forth, do you not perceive it?
I will make a way in the wilderness
and rivers in the desert
